I grew up in the South of France, so close to Spain that my parents used to take us there for weekends away. I remember the instant sense of joy and celebration when we crossed the Pyrenees then drove down the long windy road to Cadaqués, a small fishing village north of Barcelona, for many magical holidays.
Everything was a feast for my little heart: the food, the language, the light and the locals. Spain emanated a feeling of happiness and freedom.
Many times we visited the “home museum” of Salvador Dali in Port Lligat and this left an indelible impression on me. It influenced my taste forever. The vertiginous construction and disconcerting decor were Dali and Gala’s mischievous intent to tease, please and create unease.
Our 2025 collection is a celebration of these precious memories in Spain: Dali, Gala, the sun, the beach, the food, surrealism, happiness, fishing boats and pine trees by the Mediterranean sea...
We designed this fish in the style of Jean Lurçat, a mid century French ceramicist, painter and weaver from the South of France who we’ve admired from a very long time. Lurçat was a classmate of Henri Matisse and Paul Cezanne and depicted recurring motifs such as nature, animals and the cosmos. The cutouts help the fish look alive and bring movement to it.
It is said that two white sea swans wandering the beach for molluscs, pecked their way inside Dali’s house. After they passed away of natural causes, Dali got them taxidermised to live forever in his salon. Now you can tell this story to your guests when they are greeted by our swan shaped napkins perfectly arranged on their dinner plates.
The Chilli Bottle is an elegant container for chilli oil, ideal to add a spicy touch to your kitchen bench and the perfect companion to our Olive Oil Bottle.
